BY NORHAYATI UMOR

SHAH ALAM, NOV 2: The State Government will add at least 50 more dialysis panels to accommodate the Bantuan Kesihatan Sihat Selangor Programme.

Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco Dr Daroyah Alwi said that the State Government is always concerned for citizens, especially those who are disabled and facing health problems.

She said it was also for the State Government to continue and upgrade the Bantuan Kesihatan Sihat Selangor Programme from time to time, especially for patients in need of dialysis.

“Since its launch in 2015, there are 20 appointed dialysis panels and a total of 195 patients who receive such benefits.

“The numbers are growing. The State Government has helped over 504 dialysis patients with an allocated amount of RM1.45 million, and about RM2,000 to RM5,000 funded for eligible applicants,” she said in reply to a question by Lee Kee Hiong (Kuala Kubu Bahru – DAP).

At the same time, Dr Daroyah said that the State Government has established an online application system, to begin in January 2017, in order to ease the application process and check for approval status.

“In 2017, for the sake of these patients, the State Government will increase the allocated funds of RM1.7 million in 2016, to RM5 million as recently presented.

“This will help more patients who need dialysis in Selangor,” she said.
