SUBANG JAYA, MAR 21: The State Government always supports women’s role as agents of change consistent with United Nation’s (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 to achieve gender equality and empower women.

Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi said women’s involvement should not be denied, consistent with their roles and contribution in driving the state’s economic growth.

“Selangor Government recognizes women’s roles in contributing to the state’s socioeconomic and human capital development.

“We are proud with our women’s achievement ahead of other states, with 15 women Assemblymen which is equivalent to 27 percent,” she said.

She said that in her speech during the Women’s Day Celebration at Geno Hotel today.

At the same time, Daroyah also said she is proud of the achievement of 41 percent of female civil servants in the state, among them are two Selangor Syariah High Court Judges, seven Selangor Syariah Low Court Judges and the appointment of 59 council

members.

“The State Government also appoints a woman to head the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), a statutory body that contributes the most to the state’s revenue.

“This proves Selangor’s seriousness in mainstreaming women in the state’s administration,” she said.
