Pantas ready to face big tide

SHAH ALAM, SEPT 20: The Selangor Humanitarian Aid Mission (Pantas) Organisation is now preparing to face any possibility in case of large tides in Selangor.

Its chairman, Hamsah Djabir said her department is in the forefront of making preparations to ensure everything goes well including a rescue team that is sufficient to be move.

“Pantas is preparing to mobilize members for any possibility.

“We will look at the current situation and ensure the real information (incidents) including coordination to facilitate movement and assistance in critical areas,” she told SelangorKini.

She said, Pantas will see the need to lend a hand and cooperate with all related parties in the matter.

“We also hope that the State Disaster Management Unit will always report the situation and the affected areas from time to time,” she said.

The first big tides are expected to take effect today until Friday in five high-risk districts, namely Klang, Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Sepang and Kuala Langat.

The State Government has issued a preparatory instruction to cope with the high level of disaster following the expectation of the disaster phenomenon which is predicted until next December.
