#SmileSelangor receives encouraging response, to be expanded

SHAH ALAM, SEP 18: The #SmileSelangor contest has received encouraging response from citizens of this state with over 600 participations and approximately 3 million social media users.

The Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) Deputy Director, Dr Fahmi Ngah said, following that, they are planning to continue and expand the programme particularly to the rural areas.

“The significance of this programme is being in line with Smart Selangor’s vision to turn Selangor into a Smart State by 2025 with the main aim to enhance the quality of life for the people.

“When quality of life is enhanced, then citizens would be able to smile more and that is the significance of this programme,” he said after the prize-giving ceremony to the #SmileSelangor contest winners at the Black Box at SACC Mall yesterday.

The contest, from September 1 to 14, was son by Muhammad Faiz Lazarus, 26, (@_irdinazara_) receiving RM1,000; second runner-up, Sarimah Rosli, 27, (@as_arima) (RM300) and the third runner-up, Muhammad Ajwad Amaluddin, 23, (@ajwadamal) (RM200).

Winners were judged based on their smiling photos with captions that were consistent with the Smart Selangor vision.

The contest was held to promote Smart Selangor initiatives by featuring the actual experiences of people in Selangor.

Participants only had to upload their photo on social media with hashtags #SmileSelangor and #SmartSelangor, and stating the Smart Selangor vision that has made them smile.

Also present at the ceremony were Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) Chief Operating Officer, Soffan Affendi Aminudin; MBI Corporate Communications Head, Haniza Abd Aziz; as well as celebrity icon, Fadzil Zahari and Syafiq Kyle.

Syafiq Kyle, the lead actor in the drama series Mencintaimu Mr Photographer also took the chance to mingle with guests in a Meet and Greet session.
