SHAH ALAM, 18 Oct: The Batu Dam will be closed for urgent repairs on leaking pipes and the replacement of critical equipment in October 20.

The Selangor Water Suppl;y Company (SYABAS) Corporate Communications Department Head, Amin Lin Abdullah, said that maintenance will start at 7 am to 10 pm and is part of an effort to improve the efficiency of the water treatment system.

He said that consumers in Gombak are advised to store sufficient water before maintenance is carried out.

“In order to facilitate repair and replacement, the water supply from the Batu Dam needs to be shut down and every effort will be made to complete the reparation and replacement as soon as possible,” he said in a statement.

He said that the critical areas that will suffer water disruptions is the Islah Dialysis Centre – Bolton Park, the Veteran ATM Foundation Dialysis Centre and the MAIWP – PICOMS Dialysis Centre.
