Malaysia Cup: PKNS FC starts in style

SHAH ALAM, 15 Sept: PKNS FC started the Malaysia Cup campaign in style when they beat Penang 3-0 on September 12.

The success is considered sweet because it was achieved on Penang’s home-ground at the City Stadium.

“Victory came through teamwork came through being steady while increasing player performance and the coach.

“It is the best platform in starting the Malaysia Cup,” said the PKNS FC Manager, Mahfizul Rasydin Rashid to Selangor Kini.

Overall, he said that the management is satisfied with the spirited performance of the players in collecting three precious points and PKNS FC will be better prepared in facing the next match because the competition in group D is still to all teams.

“The match after this would certainly be difficult, especially in facing the defending champions, Pahang, on September 19,” he said.

PKNS FC started the match cautiously to prevent the host from attacking in the beginning and the early goal was obtained in the 17th minute through Mohd Nazrin Syamsul Bahrin.

Import player, Gabriel Guerra, strengthened the visiting team with a second goal a minute later.

Penang’s desire to bounce back was dashed when Hilton Moreira was shown the red card in the 21st minute into the first half.

PKNS FC produced a third goal through Mohd Nizam Abu Bakar (m54) in the second half and maintained this until the end of the match.
