167,930 illegal ads taken down by MBSA

SHAH ALAM, 18 Aug: 167,930 illegal ads were taken down by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) as of July 2015.

The Deputy Director of the Corporate & Community Development Department, Shahrin Ahmad, said that MBSA found banners and buntings being installed on lampposts, trees and street signs without permission are an eyesore.

He said therefore MBSA held an operation to take down illegal ads involving enforcement personnel from the Main Office at Wisma MBSA and enforcement officer that were from the MBSA Branch Office in Kota Kemuning, Sungai Buloh and Setia Alam.

“The illegal ads were on money loans, truck rentals, tuition centres, house auctions, traditional medicine and so on.

“The council advises the public, especially companies and individuals who wish to promote their products and services, to obtain ad permits from MBSA before installation,” he said in a press statement.
