11 more vehicles seized by MPK

SHAH ALAM, 25 June: 11 vehicles were seized in the illegal dumping spy operation by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) around the city since May.

The vehicles were seized according to the Collection, Removal and Disposal of Waste By-laws 4 (MPK) 2007 for dumping waste at places not designated by MPK.

MPK Enforcement Director, Andry Arman Masrom, said that the locations identified are Jalan Kebun Nenas, Jalan Air Mata Duyong,Telok Gong, Flat Taman Chi Liung, Pandamaran, Jalan Sri Damak 17 dan Jalan Temenggung, Sri Sentosa and Jalan Benteng.

He said that the irresponsible act invites many diseased, in addition to being an eyesore.

“MPK takes the matter seriously and is taking a proactive and assertive approach in tackling the problem of illegal dumping, especially at some identified locations and will continue aggressive monitoring.

“MPK will continue to monitor from time to time, especially during festive seasons,” he said.

He said that MPK will ask the local committees, especially at hotspots, to act actively in dealing with illegal dumping.

“The public can immediately report to the authorities in the event of such activities at their area at 1-800-88- 23826 or 03-33748845,” he said.
