It is to give recognition to women who are mothers in conjunction with the celebration which is celebrated worldwide in May each year.

The Chief Minister’s wife, Shamshida Taharin, said that mother’s Day is a very important day to celebrate individuals who have given life to children.

She said that a mother’s love is very special and incomparable because they are people who are willing to sacrifice for the happiness of their children.

“Mothers set aside their dreams to meet the needs of their children to ensure their well-being, both physically and emotionally.

“They want to calm their children’s every pain and anxiety because for a mother, their child’s happiness is theirs,” she said.

As a mother of six children, Shamshida said that she also faced challenges in raising them.

However, she said that each of them is special behind their different personalities and interests.

“We have to accept their shortcomings and errors because it must be reminded that when someone makes a mistake, we should blame the error not the person who did it.

“This is because people can change, especially if it is a child that God himself entrusted to take care of and educate,” she said.

In the event, Shamsida also received a surprise when her children presented her with a bouquet as a token of appreciation.

Shamsida then gave flowers to her mother, Siti Rahmah Ismail, 78, and her mother in-law, Che Tom Yahya, 80.
