Concerned about the welfare of workers, increase childcare fee subsidy

SHAH ALAM, 6 May: The Federal Government should be more concerned about caring about the welfare and rights of workers for the sake of a healthy development of the country.

Clerk, Hazame Safian, 55, said that the government should reconsider the pension age limit until 60 years of age for the development of quality work.

4.1

“At this age limit, most of them would feel that they have served for a long time and want to relax and be more focused on devotion (to Allah).

“In addition, the opportunity should be given to the young people to develop their talents and new ideas for the development of the country,” she told Selangor Kini.

Clerk officer, Aslina Samadi, 40, said that the Federal Government needs to provide more quarters for the convenience of workers who are transferred to other branches.

“When civil servants are transferred to other states, the difficulty of obtaining a place to stay is one of the reasons it is disliked by us.

4.2

“Government quarters are insufficient, making it a burden when employees have to find a home to rent themselves and sometimes it is more expensive and far away,” she said.

Administrative assistant, Zaharah Hamdan, 56, asked the government to consider increasing subsidies for nursery fees at public sector workplaces.

“Due to the increasing cost of living after the implementation of the GST, the cost for nurseries and daycare centres have also increased.

“The cost of childcare is almost RM200 per person. If there are four children, almost half of the wages is used to pay the cost for daycare,” she said.
