SABAK BERNAM, 18 Mar: The dream of a settler at Taman Rancangan Belia 2, Sungai Panjang, Anuar Rosli, to own the land title for his home was finally granted today.

At the age of 64, Anuar promised to use the land as best possible for the security of his children’s and grandchildren’s future.

“I am very grateful for this grant. At least my wife and I feel more secure to stay at our home,” said Anuar who began explore the land since the 70s.

Anuar said that he had to wait until he had grandchildren even though the document was submitted since to reign of the Umno-BN government over 20 years ago, but the attitude of the government at that time made matters involving land ownership to be postponed for too long.

“Prior to this, I had applied several times in the early 80s and mid-90s. But, it was not finalised.

“Today, the Selangor government under Pakatan Rakyat fulfilled my dream after three years of applying, from 2012,” he said.

Meanwhile, a second generation settler of Tanah Rancangan Belia 2, Jamaludin Ramli, was clearly happy when he received the ownership for the land that was explored by his father.

“I am from the second generation. Today, I just received the document (grant) which gives security for our family to occupy it peacefully.

“Thanks to the state government for always making the matter easier and caring for the welfare of the people,” he said.

Both were met by Selangor Kini at the Kampung Belia 2 Land Ownership Presentation Ceremony for Sungai Panjang and Kampung Bagan, Sungai Burong, at the Community Hall at Pekan Sabak today.

At least 28 families from the two villages received ownership grants that was presented by the Sabak Assemblyman, Sallehen Mukhyi.

At the same event, 61 beneficiaries of the Senior Citizen’s Scheme (SMUE) from the Sabak State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Sungai Panjang, Air Tawar and Sekinchan received the balance of the benevolent fund of RM1,500.
