Selangorku Affordable Housing Steering Committee expedite the Planning Permission process

SHAH ALAM, 9 Dec: The state government established the Selangorku Affordable Housing Steering Committee to help developers obtain the Planning Permission (PP) at a faster rate.

The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Life, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that the process has greatly helped the state government’s efforts to provide affordable housing.

He said that as announced during the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session recently, developers have to obtain the PP immediately to develop the project.

“In the Steering Committee, all projects entered into the One Stop Centre will go to the Steering Committee first.

“We will call on the local authorities, the Selangor Water Supply Company (Syabas), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and related agencies so that when it enters the OSC, it will be approved immediately,” he said during a media conference today.

Iskandar informed that the committee which was created yesterday is chaired by him and comprises of the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), the Selangor State City Planning Department and the Selangor State Land and Mines Office.

“Meanwhile, the meeting will be held once every two weeks,” he said.

Iskandar said that the effort is the initiative by them, as announced by the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, in the Selangor Budget 2015.

“We really want to reach the target for 15,000 planning permissions to be approved or begin building this year, while at the end of 2018, we target about 35,000 planning permissions.

“This effort is being carried out to speed up this process,” he said.
