Roslinah: Leading an organisation is not based on gender

SHAH ALAM, 12 Nov: The responsibility of leading an organisation, a society or district is not an easy task because it requires strong commitment for its success, especially if headed by a woman.

However, for Roslinah Md Jani, 42, this is not an obstacle for her to prove that the gender factor is not a problem is you want to be an administrator.

Making history as the first female District Officer in Selangor, she thinks that trust is an opportunity that should not be missed, and it would even pave way for other officers to occupy executive positions in the development of a state.

“To lead an organisation or district is a heavy responsibility, but from the aspect of men and women, we are actually complementary.

“Therefore, there is no need to make this issue big because a contribution or service itself is a collaboration between all parties and not because of gender.

“Most importantly, how we carry out our work and integrity contributes to the success of an organisation,” she told Selangor Kini today.

Roslinah, who will be assuming the position of Sepang District Officer, effective November 15, will focus on strengthening the organisation in the area in effort to make the area a prosperous district which is free from all problems.

Roslinah, who is currently the State Financial Deputy Officer at the State Treasury Office, is also determined to carry out the responsibilities given with trust after being entrusted by the State Government Secretary (SUK), Datuk Mohamed Khusrin Munawi.

“I hope that my presence as the district officer will be received and I will receive advise and cooperation from the staff at the Sepang District/Land Office,” she said.
