CM: Children of Selangor Scholarship Fund will be created

SEKINCHAN, 24 Oct: The Selangor government is considering the suggestion to create a Scholarship Fund for the children of Selangor who are now studying at the University of Selangor (Unisel).

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that this scholarship fund is to help the children of Selangor continue their studies as the cost of education is ever increasing.

He said that this will be announced in the tabling of the Selangor Budget 2015 in November.

“We are looking at the need to help our children, who are mostly from Selangor including Sabak Bernam, Tanjong Karang (and) Sungai Besar, who have the potential to continue their education but cannot do so because the cost of education is too high.

“We are looking at a large amount and this has been agreed by the Exco and will be announced in the Budget 2015,” he told the media.

Prior to this, Mohamed Azmin informed that the Selangor government will be focusing on education and development for 2015.

This move is in line with the state government’s desire which expects them to present a budget that focuses on the people’s development and to reduce management costs.
