SHAH ALAM, 18 July: In a study that was conducted by an independent body, Merdeka Centre, showed that 49 percent of respondents in Selangor have a household income of over RM3,000 a month.

This study, which was done using random sampling, found that 28 percent of respondents have a household income of over RM5,000 and 21 percent have a household income of RM3,001 to RM5,000.

Meanwhile, 26 percent of respondents earned RM1,501 to RM3,000, 13 percent earned RM1,500 an below and 12 percent did not know or did not respond.

The study also found that 70 percent of residents in Selangor have access to internet usage compared to 30 percent who do not.

The survey involved 6,436 residents in Selangor from eight local authorities, where 33 percent of them were aged 41 to 50 years of age, 23 percent (31-40) and 22 percent (51-60).

The survey, which was carried out from May 16 to July 5, involved 12 percent of respondents aged 21 to 30 years and 10 percent of those aged 60 and above.
