KLANG, 25 Apr: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is of the opinion that the Member of Parliament for Jelutong, Jeff Ooi, does not have the power to ask him to resign as the Chief Minister of Selangor, for allegedly failing to resolve the water issue in the state.

He said this at a press conference in response to a criticism of the elected representative on him via Facebook yesterday.

“I do not think that he has the power (to ask me to be fired),” he said briefly.

Meanwhile, when asked if he should respond to the criticism, Abdul Khalid stressed that it was not necessary because the matter involves maturity and integrity as a leader.

He also denied that the criticism is linked with the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) election which will take place from April 26 to May 11.

“I do not want to link it (with the PKR party election). When I do that (assume), I may be slandering on the matter,” he added.
