4,654 Land Title Applications Completed in Hulu Langat

SHAH ALAM, 10 Dec: A total of 4,654 outstanding land title applications in Hulu Langat were successfully completed to date through the setting up of a “task force” team at the District and Land Office in the area.

The remaining 46 applications will be resolved through cooperation between the District Department and the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (Jupem), said the Hulu Langat District Officer, Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya.

He said that this method is a pilot project by the Federal Department of the Chief Director of Land and Mines to solve outstanding applications for land titles in addition to issuing of final titles simultaneously.

“This first phase is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2014 with the issuing of 183 final titles.

“After this, the programme will be capitalised for other states to solve problems and issues related to the granting of titles,” he said during the State Government Administration’s Monthly Assembly at the Silver Jubilee Hall.

He said that the Hulu Langat District and Land Office has also successfully solved many applications in several villages in the area through the implementation of the Government Land Ownership for the Purpose of Private Residence in Selangor Scheme which was introduced by the state government in 2011.

To date, a total of 609 residential lots have been approved, while the remaining 308 applications have been processed and are awaiting approval from the State Government Executive Council (MMKN).

Meanwhile, Mohd Amin said that the improvement of the work process among the staff of the Hulu Langat District and Land Office has been implemented to ensure that the land application process can be settled quickly.

“As a result, the application requirements which previously took three to six months can be settled within 14 days.

“The quick process enables developers to develop land fast before the development plan is approved by the local authority.

“As a result of the initiative, the improvement of the land development process has also resulted in the Hulu Langat District and Land Office to successfully collect RM155.2 million in 2013 with an increase of 39 percent,” he said.
