PKR Urges MACC to Investigate Rosmah’s Son Who Bought RM110 Million Home in New York

SHAH ALAM, 28 Dec: PKR urges the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate how the son of the Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, could buy a penthouse worth RM110 million in New York.

PKR Vice-President, Tian Chua, said this in response to the report of the purchase of a luxury condominium penthouse unit in New York by the Prime Minister’s stepson, Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz, 36.

Yesterday, the media reported that Riza, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s son from her previous marriage, purchased real estate at the Park Laurel on West 63rd Street in New York.

The report quoted the website of The Real Deal, a real estate company in New York, stating that Riza bought a seven room penthouse on 19 November last year.

The unit was purchased by Riza under the shield of a limited-liability company called Park Laurel Acquisition.

He said that this exposure is very shocking, especially when the people are struggling with the rising cost of living.

“It is very shocking, and we are asking where did he get that much money because the amount is too large at RM110 million,” he told the media today, quoted from The Malaysian Insider.

He urged the MACC to be more instrumental in conducting an investigation on the stepson of the Prime Minister.

“The exposure seems to prove that there are leaders that are immune from the law.

“The MACC should not be overshadowed with such kind of power. They should conduct an investigation despite there being no charge because is a very serious abuse of power,” said the Member of Parliament for Batu.
