Noh Omar Unqualified to Touch Issue of CM’s Power

SHAH ALAM, 10 Feb: The Selangor Umno Chairman, Datuk Seri Noh Omar, was deemed unqualified to talk about the power issue of Selangor’s number one man because he was previously implicated in a power struggle with Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed.

The Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Information Chief, Shuhaimi Shafei, said that Noh lost his eligibility to question the post of the Chief Minister between the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“Noh is not qualified to question the issue of power because he is not an appropriate person to be in the position because he previously fought (power struggle) with Md Zin.

“So, if someone was previously implicated in the same issue, it looks logical, but Noh lost his qualification,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini yesterday.

Shuhaimi also said that Noh’s statement is to disrupt leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) because Barisan Nasional’s (BN) path would become difficult in the state if Anwar wins in the Kajang by-election.
In relation to that BN is trying to create propaganda to discredit PR so that they are not unified.

“The question on whether Anwar will be Chief Minister has not risen. Our focus is on the Kajang by-election and what has been brought up symbolises BN’s annoyance if Anwar wins. So, they are playing politics to disturb PR leaders,” he said.

Yesterday, Noh predicted that the state will experience constitutional crisis if Anwar is appointed to be the Chief Minister, replacing Abdul Khalid.

He said that it is possible that there will be a clash between the political power and the Sultan, by depicting that Anwar gave a statement that ignores the monarch institution and other PR leaders.

Elaborating, Shuhaimi said that PR has and understanding to strengthen the monarch institution based on the constitution, but BN acted first by reducing the power of the king and does not defend the king.

“They actually did all the changes in the House of Representatives and the State. Speaking on things that have not happened, if Anwar indeed ignores the king, he would have certainly have done that when he was in BN,” he said.
