KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Mar: “Preliminary surveillance data” examined by the Pentagon suggests the missing Malaysia Airlines MH320 jet, that went mission early Saturday, did not explode over the South China Sea
The New York Times newspaper cited a U.S. government official who spoke on the condition of anonymity as suggesting “a system that looks for flashes around the world” had not identified any sign of a blast.
The MH370 flight to Beijing was flying 227 passengers from 14 countries, with 12 crew members, lost contact with the Subang Air Traffic Control Centre at 2.40am on Saturday.
The plane took off from the KLIA at 12.41am and was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6.30am.
It was reported missing after failing to be detected on radar by the Vietnam air traffic control which then reported it to the Subang air traffic control.
