KAJANG, 13 Mar: The value of property handed over by Talam Corporation (TALAM) to repay their debt to the Selangor Government in 2012 has increased from RM398 million to almost RM700 million.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the increase in the property value was because the State Government has developed the land and its surrounding area.

“MCA cannot say much because it was before the 13th General Election (GE13). MCA wants to blame the State Government but is not smart in doing so, helps Talam.

“When the calculation was done, including from the national audit, they said that it was good because state assets or income increased.

“It used to be RM398 million, but now, it is almost RM700 million because I managed the land well,” he said in a general talk held here at Taman Mesra yesterday.

Abdul Khalid also slammed the Member of Parliament for Labis, Chua Tee Yong, who tried to distort facts regarding the TALAM debt collection by the State Government.

“Keep quiet MCA. If MCA gives a talk now, it would more shameful than shame,” he said.

Abdul Khalid said during the debt collection process, he was informed by TALAM owners that the company made payments to certain parties in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, not wanting to reveal the identity, when given the land.

“So we can see in the last general election, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) successfully added eight seats, BN is left with only 12 seats from Umno, while MCA has no seats at all.

“The people of Kajang need not elect MCA because they have no place in the Selangor State Assembly,” he said.
