Increased salary and promotion for 788 JAIS teachers and education officers

SHAH ALAM, 4 June: The Selangor State Executive Council (MMKN) today approved the promotion of 788 teachers and education officers from the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).

The Executive Councillor for Education, Higher Learning and Human Capital Development, Dr Halimah Ali, said for that, the State Government will make payment of arrears amounting to RM5.7 million, with the difference from January to December of RM2.4 million.

She said that the promotion will be done on a time based promotion for teachers and education officers, involving the DG 29, DG 32, DG 41, DG 44, DG 48 and DG 52 salaries.

“Today, we have good news when the MMKN approved the implementation of a promotion to JAIS teachers and educational services officers.

“We hope that the State Government will continue to appreciate the contribution of teachers who serve excellently in JAIS.

“I hope that this approval will encourage us all to serve better in efforts to produce excellent human beings,” she said.

She said this at a press conference with the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, after the MMKN meeting today.

The increase involved 399 people for educational services officers, 353 for officers with the DG 29 and 37 salaries, officers (DG 32), three people (DG 41), one person (DG 44), four (DG 48) and one (DG 52).
