Selangor PKR re-election starts June 15, rent State Government halls

PETALING JAYA, 11 June: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) re-election 2014 for branches in Selangor will begin on June 15.

The Chairman of the Central Election Committee (CEC), Datuk Johari Abdul, said that the re-election will be held at halls owned by local authorities in Selangor, rented by PKR.

“We ask for the Selangor State Government to rent us more comfortable facilities. We have written to pay the guards under the control of the State Government, in addition to the security we will be providing,” he said during a press conference at the PKR Headquarters today.

He said that the Shah Alam branch involves an additional two hours on the second day of polling, in contrast to other branches that will undergo re-elections.

“For the Shah Alam branch, additional time will be given because in the previous polling, the polling time was closed earlier. So, we expect to add two hours and only those who have not voted are allowed to cast their ballots,” he said.
