Students: Solve CM issue prudently

SHAH ALAM, 21 July: The power struggle for the position of Chief Minister does not benefit any party, especially the people of the state, including students of the University of Selangor (Unisel).

Executive Media Councillor for Demi Mahasiswa Unisel, Muhammad Ikmal Ahmad, said that students of Unisel ask for this crisis to be resolved immediately and for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to be given a chance to complete his second term through the mandate given by the people of Selangor.

He said that if PR still wants to change the Chief Minister, it has to be done prudently and through proper channels.

“We, Demi Mahasiswa Unisel, see that Abdul Khalid’s performance is still satisfactory with the state development and good condition of Unisel.

“Abdul Khalid has the majority support from the people of Selangor, especially students in Selangor, in the latest survey conducted by Unisel student; 73 percent of students support his leadership,” he said in a press statement.

Ikmal said that he suggested for PR to fix this problem internally without putting aside the views of the people in general.

“Tan Sri Khalid is known for his affection for the people, thus raising concerns regarding the people’s support in the 14th General Election (GE14).

“This should be given special attention by Pakatan,” he said.
