Sultan of Selangor orders CM to not issue any statements until August 28

SHAH ALAM, 15 Aug: The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, ordered him to not make any decision or announcements on the position of the Chief Minister until HRH the Sultan returns on August 27.

Abdul Khalid said that HRH the Sultan has commanded that he is satisfied that Khalid has the majority support of Assembly Members in his briefing on Monday, August 11.

“I have been communicating with HRH the Sultan of Selangor regarding the latest political developments in the state, including the sentiment among members of the Selangor State Assembly,” said Abdul Khalid in a press statement.

Abdul Khalid said that he advised the parties who claimed that he was misleading HRH the Sultan to write to the Sultan directly for clarification.

Prior to this, Abdul Khalid received the consent of the Sultan of Selangor to continue to serve as the Chief Minister.

Abdul Khalid also received support from four PAS Exco members to continue administering the State Government.
