CM Issue: Exco confident there is wisdom behind PAS’s decision

SHAH ALAM, 18 Aug: The Executive Councillor in charge of Youth, Sports, Infrastructure and Public Amenities, Dr Ahmad Yunis Hairi, believes there is wisdom behind the decision made at the Central PAS Committee meeting yesterday.

This is because usually PAS members are allowed to provide various opinions from all angles before a decision is made.

“There is wisdom behind this decision. I think this is the best.

“Usually, at PAS meetings, we receive all views from members; the view of the majority is not necessarily the decision.

“Usually we seek forgiveness and make the best decision which can be accepted by all parties,” said Dr Ahmad Yunus to reporters after inaugurating the Kuala Langat District Council (MDKL) – KFC Open Regatta 2014 yesterday.

He said that this can be seen when the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim also received this decision with an open heart.

“The Chief Minister has already personally issued a press release that he receives this decision well and he will face the Sultan on the next step,” he added.

Ahmad Yunus added that the meeting which was held yesterday morning also decided that he and the other three Selangor Government Exco members from PAS will continue their duties as usual until they receive a new directive either from the palace, the State Government or the PAS Central leadership.

Yesterday, the Central PAS Committee meeting decided to nominate two names; the President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, or her deputy, Mohammed Azmin Ali, to replace Abdul Khalid as the new Chief Minister.
