CM: The Datuk Seri title issue, “I have only been serving for 2 months”

KLANG, 11 Dec: The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that his service, which has just reached 80 days, is too early to be bestowed the honorary title award.

He said that this would not be a problem for him to continue to carry out his responsibilities as the Chief Minister.

“I have been only serving for two months,” he explained when asked by reporters about the awarding of the Honorary Decoration by the Sultan of Selangor, which carries the title of ‘ Datuk Seri’.

He said that his focus now is to concentrate during his working hours and to give the best service to the people.

“In these two months, I have seen some things that need to be addressed,” he said.

Prior to this, Mohamed Azmin declined to comment on the issue and in fact did not want to comment further about the stripping of the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s ‘Datuk Seri’ title.

It prompted the former PKR Deputy President, who is also a veteran politician, Dr Syed Husin, to criticise Mohamed Azmin for taking silence.

Mohamed Azmin, who is also the Bukit Antarabangsa Assembly, was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Selangor on September 23.
