Flood worsening, Kelantan CM calls for ‘Solat Hajat’ prayers

SHAH ALAM, 23 Dec: The Kelantan Chief Minister, Datuk Ahmad Yakob, called for all mosques and suraus in the state to hold ‘Solat Hajat’ prayers starting from today following the increasingly “worrying” flood situation.

He said officials from the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council and Kelantan Islamic Religious Affairs Department as well Quran and ‘pondok'(hut) school teachers could lead the prayers.

“It is to ask Allah to protect the people of Kelantan and Malaysia from the flood that cannot be faced by humans alone,” he said in a media statement.

Ahmad said that the flood is a test of Allah which has been set to test the faith and patience of his servants.

“Therefore, we must accept it gracefully and with great courage,” added Ahmad.
