“The passing of Tok Guru (teacher) is a great loss to the country and is hard to be replaced. We share this grief because he was a respected and loved leader. Gone is an irreplaceable jewel.

“His moderate attitude, clean and principled leadership always reminds me to assume the same trust for the people.

“Thanks be to Allah, I had the opportunity to pay my last respects before his body was taken to the mosque to be prayed for and I managed to meet his wife,” she told Selangor Kini.

The late Nik Aziz was safely buried at the Pulau Melaka Islamic Cemetary at 11 this morning after he breathed his last breath at the age of 84 in his home at 9.40 pm yesterday, roughly an hour after being taken home from the hospital.
