Azmin: IGP should call Jho Low, investigate 1MDB scandal

PERMATANG PAUH, 4 May: The police’s failure to call up businessman Jho Low to be questioned regarding the 1MDB scandal has brought up assumptions about the double standards of the police in carrying out their responsibilities.

The Deputy PKR President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that meanwhile the police has acted so quickly on politicians and ordinary citizens who objected to the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST).

“I ask the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to not abet with tyranny, do not abet with Umno, but defend the people, defend the country,” said Mohamed Azmin who is also the Selangor Chief Minister.

He said this during the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) campaign programme at the People’s Service Centre in Permatang Pasir last night.

He added that the police should not be linked with any parties in decision-making.

Mohamed Azmin also questioned the reluctance of the police in arresting the IGP’s brother who was involved in the issue of taking down the cross at a church in Taman Medan in Selangor recently.
