3 dirty premises ordered to close

SHAH ALAM, 18 May: Three premises were ordered to close due to being too dirty according to the UUK 62 provisions of the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSp) Food Establishment Licencing By-laws in the OPS Bersih raid on May 12.

The Deputy Yang Dipertua of MPSp, Hafiz Shaari, said that examinations revealed that the maintenance area and the raw materials storage was unattended, and even the toilets were very dirty.

“Food premises that fail to reach a merit of 30 points or at the critical stage will be seized for 14 days and cleaning will be carried out immediately.

“It is aimed at increasing the level of cleanliness of food premises and ensuring that traders comply with hygiene rules,” he said in a press statement.

Hafiz said that some premises were licensed under locals were also identified as allowing foreigners run business activities.

“We will continue to monitor and hope that the public will help channel information if foreigners are trading illegally,” he said.
