Selangor athletes who failed to get medals at the SEA Games still given incentives

SHAH ALAM, 24 June: All Selangor athletes that led the charge in the SEA Games in Singapore recently will be given incentives by the state government.

The Exco for Young Generation Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development, Amirudin Shaari, said that the incentive was given in appreciation of their efforts to make the country known internationally.

“For athletes who play at a certain level, we have incentives that have been set.

“Every participation has an incentive. If they win gold, silver, bronze or broke a record, we have a set table of incentive schemes,” he said when contacted by Selangor Kini.

The Malaysian contingent at the SEA Games 2015 in Singapore managed to win 186 medals in total with 62 gold, 58 silver and 66 bronze.

6.2

Selangor athletes contributed 60 medals in total, including sailing with three gold medals through Muhd Dhiauddin Rozaini, Muhammad Farhan Hamid and Norashikin Mohd Sayed.

Selangor gymnast, Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, also contributed two gold medals, one silver and three bronze in various disciplines.
