Police disrupt administration works in Selangor

PETALING JAYA, 18 SEPT: Administration work in Selangor was disrupted when the police summoned several Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders, including Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, to come forward and give evidence in relation to the Bersih 4 rally.

Exco for Tourism, Environment, Technology and Consumer Affairs, Elizabeth Wong, said the move also put pressure on the leaders concerned who are busy managing the needs and welfare of the people.

“This is a way to disrupt our work. It has become a trend, coupled with questions that do not make sense.

“This is an attempt to scare people,” she told Selangor Kini.

In addition to Azmin Ali, Elizabeth was also contacted by the police to give a statement on Bersih 4 yesterday.

She also proposed to the police to contact the leaders and parties involved in the ‘Red Shirt’ rally which was marred by racial provocation.

“Do not use nonsensical excuses to only suppress Pakatan politicians, activists or the public.

“Anyone can participate in the rally as it is the basis of democracy. But do not play favourites,” she said.

Mohamed Azmin was present at the Dang Wangi police station today to give a statement on his involvement in Bersih 4 last month.

He was present at the police station at around 10am, accompanied by his lawyer, N. Surendran, Latheefa Koya, Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, and Yusmadi Yusoff.
