KUALA SELANGOR, 5 May: An individual who went out to cast his vote at 9am claims that the indelible ink on his finger came off after he washed his hands.
Zazuli Mohd Zin who voted at the Kampung Api-Api Religious Primary School (SRA) claimed that he returned home after casting his vote and realised that the ink faded after he washed his hands.
He claimed that the ink started to dry when he left the polling station.
But when he washed his hands with water and soap at home, the ink faded.
Previously, there have been several allegations and police reports lodged by early voters who found the same thing happened with the ink painted on their hands.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) said that the incident occurred because the EC staff “did not shake” the ink bottle provided.
Meanwhile, further checking at the Kampung Api-Api SRA found the condition controlled and calm since the centre opened at 8am this morning.
Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is expected to vote at the People’s Religious School at about 11.30am.
The public have been queuing in good and bright weather and it looks like there are now more senior citizens among the voters.
Meanwhile, in HULU KELANG, Hulu Kelang constituency PAS candidate, Saari Sungib arrived at the AU2 polling station in Keramat at around 7.50 this morning.
Saari who is the incumbent for the constituency seat since 2008 joined other residents in waiting for the polling station to open while shaking hands with the crowd.
Saari from PAS is contesting against the Gombak Umno Division Chief, Rahim Kamaruddin from BN for the constituency seat.
A total of 222 Parliamentary seats are being contested throughout the country, with BN representing 135 seat, Pakatan 75 seats and 12 seats represented by Independent candidates and three other parties.
The election this time is expected to be the fiercest in the history of Malaysian politics with the increase of new voters by about 25 percent.
In PANDAN, Pandan PKR candidate, Rafizi Ramli arrived at SK Pandan Indah accompanied by his wife, Afizsa Ashah, to cast her vote. Rafizi did not cast his vote as he is registered in Kemaman.
In PORT KLANG, the situation was different when BN members tried to campaign in front of the school gates and tried to lead senior citizens to the registration area.
However, this was opposed by the Selangor PKR Youth (AMK) Chief, Azmizam Zamanhuri who queued with other voters.
The situation was resolved after intervention from EC staff.
