Murder of Egyptians, Malaysian Government Turns a Deaf Ear?

PETALING JAYA, July 29: The Malaysian Government’s silence on the issue of the murder of Egyptians has disappointed the Muslim community in this country.

Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed disappointment in Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s action of not issuing any statement to condemn the massacre of the people of Egypt.

“We condemn this action and not only just the Muslims, and justice-loving nations should protest against the massacre by a cruel military regime, especially in the month of Ramadan.

“I regret to this day that the Malaysian Government has not released any statement. This means that the genocide has not affected their feelings or their behaviour,” he said.

Turkey has, among others, outspokenly condemned the attack that killed over 300 residents of Egypt recently, but it is different with the Malaysian Government which remains silent.

Recently, the government troops led by General Abdel Fattah al-Sissi clashed with the supporters of the ousted President, Dr Mohamamad Morsi and Ikhwanul Muslimin members in a peaceful assembly in several cities in Egypt.
