MCA Playing ‘Firebrand Politics’, Pretending to support Selangor CM

SHAH ALAM, 31 Jan: For the sake of political interests, MCA is seen as making a ‘U-turn’ by supporting the Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, to thwart plans to bring in the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Leader into the Selangor State Assembly.

The Member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, said that previously MCA was a Barisan Nasional (BN) component party often seen launching numerous ridiculous attacks against Abdul Khalid.

“To a point where now, MCA is campaigning to support Abdul Khalid and are saying that if Abdul Khalid is to remain the Chief Minister, the voters have to make Anwar lose.

“MCA is now clever in using the Chief Minister’s name. This is hilarious in the Malaysian political arena,” he said in a press conference at his office yesterday.

The statement proves that the previously quiet MCA acknowledged the support of the people of Selangor towards the excellent performance in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) state government administration led by Abdul Khalid.

However, Khalid is confident that voters in Kajang are not easily fooled by the game of ‘firebrand politics’ played by MCA.

Meanwhile, when commenting on the Kajang by-election issue, Khalid said that Anwar’s victory could strengthen the Selangor PR Government stronghold from BN attacks and solve internal issues of PKR.
