KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Jan: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will be organising a national convention on 8 March; the first time it is being held after the 13th General Election (GE13).
The PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said that the convention will be held in Selangor.
In a press conference here at the PAS Headquarters, he said that the Selangor PAS Commissioner, Iskandar ABdul Samad, has been appointed as the coordinator of the convention and the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, will be the advisor.
Meanwhile, Pakatan Rakyat remains with its stand that a new Election Commission (EC) should be established before the re-delineation process is carried out.
Anwar Ibrahim said that Pakatan takes the stand and the same call as during the Bersih 2.0.
“We agree with Bersih’s call in asking members of the Commission to resign so that more credible, qualified and independent EC members will handle the process of the re-delineation.
“Some of their new measures show that they are too succumbing to political pressure form the ruling party,” he said.
