Anwar: Learn to Live a Difficult Life before Belittling Wan Azizah

KAJANG, 17 Mar: The Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, slammed the Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, for belittling the PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“After being threatened a slap, (he) already panics, and now (he) wants to belittle Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who has been living a hard life and knows the true meaning of justice,” said the Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said that Khairy is unfit to do so until he personally understands the meaning of justice and learns how to live a difficult life without relying of family wealth.

“Khairy…Do not speak arrogantly; learn how to live a hard life first before talking a lot.

“If one is in the wrong, punishing is alright. Every day, for 16 years, I was humiliated. Since 1998, I was beaten half to death. Do not be arrogant. Today you might be a minister, but not necessarily tomorrow,” he said in a public speech at Kampung Baru Sungai Chua, quoted from Sinar Harian Online.

He said this in response to the statement by the Minister of Youth and Sports, where he called the PKR President a puppet for having to be the jump-in candidate for the Kajang N25 by-election.

According to Anwar, in defence of his wife, said that Wan Azizah is an excellent student who was awarded a gold medal while studying abroad in the field of medicine, without any help or influence from her family.

“When Wan Azizah was studying at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, she was one of the top students, not because of a quota or because her father was wealthy and a minister.

“When I went to jail, she took over the responsibility (to demand for justice),” he added.
