MH370 Search Operations Suspended, Indian Ocean Experiencing Bad Weather

SHAH ALAM, 27 Mar: The MH370 aircraft search operations in the Indian Ocean had to be suspended due to bad weather in the area today.

U.S. Navy Official,Lieutenant Commander Adam Schantz, said that the weather forecasts indicate the formation of ice, severe turbulence and near zero visibility caused the operation to be cancelled.

Quoting a report from Reuters, Schantz is the officer in charge of the U.S. Navy Poseidon P8 aircraft detachment in the search operation for the MH370 aircraft which reportedly ended in the Indian Ocean on 24 March.

“Anybody who’s out there is coming home and all additional sorties from here are canceled,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority confirmed flights had been canceled due to the weather and the search operations have also been suspended due to the same problem on 25 March.
