CM: The state government will wait for the MBI’s report on the RM2.8 million case

SHAH ALAM, 15 Dec: The state government is waiting for the full report by the management of Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) to determine the next move regarding the issue of the gratuity payment of RM2.8 million to eight assistants of the former Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that this issue is now given consideration by the new management of MBI and the state government will look into the developments of this issue.

“I will see first what is submitted by the new MBI management and determine the form of action to be taken,” he told reporters today.

He said that the management of MBI is reviewing all aspects of the issue before it is submitted to the state government.

“Take note that some feedback has been prepared and will be presented to me for further action,” he said.

Mohamed Azmin said that the state government expects that this will happen this week according to the hectic schedule faced by the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session and the birthday celebration of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, recently.

The payment was allegedly made at the end of Abdul Khalid’s period of service before Mohamed Azmin took over as the Chief Minister, effective September 23.
