“New matters like this should be decided by the PR Leadership Council and I will discuss it before any decision is made,” he said at the Selangor State Assembly lobby today.

He also informed that at the moment there will only be one Deputy Speaker which is held by Mohd Shafie Ngah (PAS-Bangi).

Prior to this, the Selangor DAP Chairman, Tony Pua, said that the party will continue lobbying for another Deputy Speaker position to be established when it was won by PAS through a secret ballot carried out at the DNS recently.

He expressed that party’s desire at the Selangor DAP Convention on November 30.

He said that the request is fair and reasonable.

Meanwhile, the Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim, said that the Selangor DAP will continue their demand from the Chief Minister who previously promised to give the Deputy Speaker seat to the party.

He said that the seat is very important to them after showing loyalty to PKR and PR during the Chief Minister crisis five months ago.
