“We believe, based on experience, at the end of the year the Zakat collection amount will increase.

“This allows LZS to channel more Zakat money to the recipients,” he said to reporters after the Zakat Distribution and Business Zakat Payment Ceremony took place today, reported Mstar Online.

Also receiving this Zakat distribution were 291 poor and needy recipients who are continuing their studies at the Selangor Industrial University.

At the event, LZS received the business Zakat amounting to about RM1.2 million from 29 companies, including Sirim QAS International Bhd and AmIslamic Bank Bhd.

LZS also presented various types of Zakat donations amounting to RM2.4 million, including hearses to 10 mosques.
