Over 3,000 celebrate Royal Tea Ceremony

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 Dec: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, consented to attend the Royal Tea Ceremony in conjunction with his 69th birthday at the Alam Shah Palace yesterday.

Also at the event was the Tengku Panglima Diraja Selangor, Tengku Sulaiman Shah.

Among the guests present was the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, and his wife, Shamshida Taharin, Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi, the Selangor State Assembly Speaker, Hannah Yeoh, and state government leaders.

The event was attended by about 3,000 guests, and it was also graced by the cutting of yellow sticky rice by the Sultan.

Sultan Sharafuddin then consented to shake hands with the dignitaries and invited guests who were entertained by cultural performances from the Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation Selangor (PADAT) and local artists.
