SHAH ALAM, 19 Dec: The state government will consider increasing the allowance to a better amount in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of village heads for 2016.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the increase of RM100 for 2015 which was previously announced is a token of appreciation by the state government for the services of village heads.

He said that the state government will also consider a consolation in the form of compensation to village heads that have ended their service, in addition assistance in the form of welfare.

“The has been an appeal from village heads that when their services end, a small compensation from the state government based on the services provided will be given.

“I accept it and we will need to look at the financial implications, including the welfare of the village heads,” he said during the Selangor State Traditional Village Heads Services Appreciation Ceremony which took place at the De Palma Hotel yesterday.

Overall, the Selangor government has 368 village heads from nine districts.
