SHAH ALAM, 24 Mar: The consolidated fund increased by RM226 million in two months, bringing the state reserves to RM3.4 billion as of February 28, 2015.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the strengthening reserves needs to be translated to benefit the people to ensure that they also share in enjoying state revenue.

“However, as stressed repeatedly, what would it mean if the state government records high growth, has strong reserves, but it cannot be shared by the people?

“There is no meaning if the government and the leaders are rich but the people are suffering. That is why we have launched various programmes so that this wealth can be shared with Selangorians,” he said.

He said this during the Launch and Officiating Ceremony for the Selangor Hijrah Programme at the Silver Jubilee Hall near here today.

Mohamed Azmin informed that the increase in state reserves is based on the Selangor State Financial Executive Meeting this morning.
