Drink 3 litres of water a day to avoid heat stroke due to the equinox

SHAH ALAM, 12 Mar: The people are advised to drink at least three litres of plain water a day to prevent deaths due to heat stroke during the equinox hot weather.

Health Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi, said that the state government has launched the Jom Minum Air (Let’s Drink Water) Campaign to encourage people to make it a habit of drinking plain water.

“We hope that all parties, including labourers, contractors and school students can reduce outdoor activities.

“Everyone is reminded to drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration,” she said during a press conference after launching the Jom Minum Air and the Jom Sihat (Let’s Get Healthy) SUK Selangor at the SUK Building today.

Commenting on the Jom Sihat Campaign, Daroyah reminded all civil servants to remain healthy and active in enduring the smooth administration of the state government.

“We encourage our staff here to walk a lot and not use elevators.

“We will start it at the SUK first and take it to district offices and local authorities for the same programme,” she said.
