LZS carries out latest campaign to facilitate contributors in checking statements

SHAH ALAM, 12 Mar: The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) launched the Increase Zakat Contribution Through Salary Deductions Campaign to encourage existing contributors to revise their Zakat deductions today.

The campaign will be carried out for a period of three months starting March 15 to June 15.

At the same event, LZS held the LZS Award and Appreciation Ceremony 2014 dedicated to audit and tax firms, company agents, banks, post offices and Amil assistants at higher education institutions.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Hussin Mohd Ali, said that the awards given to the business Zakat payers involved helped LZS in carrying out their duties in paying Zakat throughout Selangor.

He said that in addition, LZS also donate trucks to recipients who are conducting small-scaled businesses.

“A total of 45 LZS lorries worth RM55,000 each, including working capital and equipment, were presented to recipients from nine districts in Selangor.

“Above all, LZS will launch the Increase Contribution Campaign, which is more than 60 percent, through the salary deduction scheme,” he told Selangor Kini.

An increase in collection in 2014 amounting to RM615 million provided the opportunity for LZS to manage Zakat transparently and fairly, and to ensure effective distribution.
