SHAH ALAM, 30 Mar: The Exco for Infrastructure and Public Amenities, Zaidy Abdul Talib, conducted a walkabout to personally look into the burst pipe that caused water supply disruption.

The incident resulted in low water pressure problems at the Sime UEP pool and the Bandar Puteri Pool which received water from Line 2 of the Semenyih Water Treatment Plant.

“SYABAS is trying their best to stabilise and restore the supply so that it can reach the people, especially those living in Puchong and USJ,” said Zaidy today.

He said that he hopes that SYABAS can repair it as soon as possible for the comfort of the people.

Also in the visit was the Seri Serdang Assemblyman, Noor Hanim Ismail.

Some areas in the Petaling District (36 areas) and Hulu Langat (23 areas) experienced unscheduled water disruption and low water pressure since early this morning due to the burst pipe along the pipeline that channels water from the Sungai Semenyih WTP to the Bandar Puteri Puchong storage reservoir.

The pipe is a Mild Steel (MS) pipe with a diameter of 600 mm.

This situation caused a reduction in the water ingress from Sungai Semenyih Bandar Puteri Puchong Water Pond to the SIME-UEP Water Pond in the Petaling District and also affected the water pressure from the Bandar Baru Bangi Water Terminal Pond in the District of Hulu Langat.

With continuous use of water by consumers, it caused a decrease in the level of the pond and caused water supply disruptions and low water pressure in some areas.
