‘Malaysiaku Merdeka’ Celebration, reveals Syrian-Rohingya sufferings

SELAYANG, AUG 31: The celebration on the eve of independence day, the ‘Malaysiaku Merdeka’ Programme, at Dataran Ilmu, Bandar Baru Selayang was celebrated very differently.

Without any frivolous entertainment, the programme filled with religious and intellectual content benefited more than 500 attendees.

The content was also focused on religious talks and motivational and nationalist slots revealing the sufferings of the Muslim Rohingya and Syrian communities, with video screenings on the cruelty of the enemies bombing their homes.

The programme organised by DUN Taman Templer Community Service Centre in collaboration with Muslim Care, Jabatan Amal Selangor and Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) featured Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib.

Also present were Deputy MPS Yang Dipertua, Juhari Ahmad, Council Members, Mosque Administrators, Village Chiefs and the public.

Special appearances by celebrities Heliza Helmi, Ijam Medicine, Soutul Amal, Imam Fadil Sheikh Abdul Karim and Ustaz Hassan Al-Hafiz also livened the programme yesterday night.

Besides that, Ustaz Abu Hassan Al-Hafiz also led the tahlil recitation and prayers to ask for prosperity and peace in Malaysia.

Before that, he also gave a talk on examples and stories of Islamic scholars as well as the struggle of the Prophet’s (PBUH) companions in upholding the religion.

Meanwhile, the Rohingya community from Subang Rohingya children tahfiz school led by Ustaz Reazul Haq Mufit Abdul was also brought there to experience the celebration of enjoying the independence in Malaysia.
