SHAH ALAM, NOV 23: The total local and foreign tourist arrivals to Selangor increased by 1.5% to 4.3 million for the period of January to September.
Tourism Selangor Chairman Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said the total is compared to the same period last year with the target of 7.1 million visitors this year.
“We are confident of achieving this target through continuous initiatives undertaken by various agencies,” she said during a press conference launching the ‘Terokai Kehijauan Selangor’ book at Sky Forest, Acappella Suite Hotel recently.
Also present was Tourism, Environment, Technology and Consumer Affairs Exco Elizabeth Wong and Rawang Assemblyman Gan Pei Nei.
The state tourism industry has undergone tremendous growth after several tourist areas were developed through the long term plan and initiatives of Tourism Selangor.
At the same time, the state government is promoting the industry through the establishment of a Selangor Tourism Information Centre that will be completed next year.
